I’m Mariss and I’m a fashion historian whose thesis work investigated the fashion narratives seen on The Real Housewives franchises on Bravo TV. The intersection of popular culture and fashion is a topic I’m passionate about documenting and preserving accurately. I’ve worked in the archives of prominent American designer Tory Burch and the historical institution Kingsland Manor. I’ve learned how to utilize archiving technology such as PastPerfect and best practices for archive management and special collections. With an educational background in African American studies, fashion, and art history paired with the practical experience of the NYU costume studies master’s I have the necessary skills for:
Special collections care
Archive management
Curation
Art Direction
Styling
My Website serves as a hub to share my styling archive and showcase the various creative projects I have worked on. For inquiries please email marissamotleystudio@gmail.com
